Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Fancy Floral attributed to the Norton Factory, Bennington, Vermont.
Circa 1850, this beauty features a Thick and Tooled Rim with Two Grooves, a Tall and Graceful Neck, Inscribed Shoulder, Bulbous Base, and a Floral with 11 Leaves and 4 Blossoms with 4 Petals Each. The flowers look like a cross between the Norton butterfly and their honeysuckle decorations. Stands 13 1/8" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 3/8" chip on the rim on the right side, two 1 1/2" hairlines confined to the rim (closeups 1 & 2), and a 5" horizontal line near the base on the left side that wraps under across the bottom (bottom portion does not show inside) (closeup 3). No base chips, stains, or restoration.
