Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT."
This is the work of Julius Norton and his cousin, Edward Norton who worked in Bennington using this mark from 1850-1859 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp, 42).
This beauty features a Larger Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Classic Norton Double Floral Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup Using Dark and Shiny Cobalt. Measures 12 1/4" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A colored flat 1/2" chip inside the rim and a couple small minor stains. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
