Item 12343
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 1/2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.
The flower with the circle between the stem and petals makes a probable attribution to Mauldine Perine or his former associate, William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland. Perine and sons worked in stoneware from approximately 1827 to after 1900, and Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
Circa 1850, this beauty features a Small 1/2 Gallon Size, Tooled Squared Rim and a Brushed Cobalt Garland of Three Sideways Flowers. Skillful artistry and gorgeous cobalt on a light gray glaze for maximum contrast. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind.
