Item 12328
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Two Gallon Stoneware Crock whose decoration indicates that it was made by Carlton Bachelder, of Menasha Wisconsin. He ran his pottery from 1855 -1866 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 148).
This beauty features the "2" Capacity Number with Underscore and a Bright Brushed Cobalt Floral that Bursts off the Front. Powerful contrast with the light gray glaze. Measures 8 3/4" tall and 9 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1 1/4" chip inside the rim as shown. Otherwise, as made. Slightly out of round in the making.
