Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped for the Merchant "John Conlon * Co., Grocers, Wine & Spirit Merchant, 210 Lincoln St., Boston."
 
The decoration indicates that it was made by the Ottman Brothers of Fort Edward, N.Y.   William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1872-1892 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 68).
 
This beauty features the Merchant Stamp in Four Lines Washed with Cobalt on the Shoulder and the Stylized Ottman Floral Bouquet Created with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt on the Body.  Stands 14" tall  
 
Excellent Condition.  Small chips around the spout and some staining from use.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks or restoration.
