Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."
 
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Brushed Cobalt Leaf. The decoration is executed with bold and shiny cobalt. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble on the top of the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
