Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Lidded Salt Canister attributed to the Sherwood Brothers Pottery of New Brighton, Pennsylvania.
 
Circa 1900, this beauty features a Cream-Colored Glaze with Blue and White Pinstripes on the Top and Bottom with "Salt" Stenciled in the Middle.  The lid also has a blue pinstripe on the edge.  Stands 6 1/2" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chips inside the rim, and a 1/4" flake and minor nibbles outside the rim.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.   The lid has a minor nibble and a flat 3/8" chip on the bottom of the overhang.  Otherwise, as made.
