Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made for the merchant "A. Dare & Son, Sistersville, W. VA."  
 
It was made in Southwestern Pennsylvania at either Greensboro or New Geneva. 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Accented with Twl Stripes, Three Lines of Stenciled Advertising Adorned with Small Decorations, and a Bottom Stripe. Stands 9 3/4" tall. 
 
Good Condition with Restoration.  There is a 3" wide restoration down the right side.  No idea why because there is no restoration inside.  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or stains otherwise. What looks like a hole repair on the bottom center is wear on a slightly raised spot there.
