Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."
 
Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim and Shoulder and the Company Advertising Surrounding a Floral and Accented with Leaves in the Middle.  Must have been a Monday morning piece because the stencil is reversed!  Stands 10" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Some wear around the very middle. Otherwise, no chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
