Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for the merchant "A. Dare & Son, Sistersville, W. VA."  
 
It was made in Southwestern Pennsylvania at either Greensboro or New Geneva. 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Inner Groove for the Wax Sealant, and Three Lines of Stenciled Advertising Adorned with Small Decorations.  Stands 8 1/2" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition. Small chips around the inside of the rim.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
