Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 3 Gallon Jug made by "Boyers & Harden, Palatine, W. VA." Palatine is now named Fairmont.  
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features Top to Bottom Decoration on a Warm Light Gray Glaze.   From the top down are a stripe accenting the rim, a tulip blossom surrounded by dozens of vertical dashes and resting on a wide wavy stripe at the shoulder, the company advertising surrounding a flower and framed by diamonds on the sides oerched in the middle, and the freehand capacity number flanked by dashes and underscored by a wide stripe at the bottom.  Additional cobalt accents at the handle terminals.  Stands 13 1/2" tall. 
 
Good Condition. An X-shaped line on the bottom with three arms up to the front bottom to the middle and left and right.  See the three closeups.  Everything has been glued for reinforcement.  Otherwise, as made.
