Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous Blue and White Spongeware Pither in the Old Fashioned Garden Rose Pattern.
 
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 63-64.
 
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty bears an Embossed Single-Stemmed Rose on Each Side. The sponging is applied in dark and glossy cobalt in the chainlink pattern.  The sponging leaves lots of white so that the embossed pattern still shows through. Measures 9" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor and narrow glaze wear on the sides of the spout and embossed decoration from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
