Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "O. L. and A. K. Ballard, Burlington, VT." 
 
This is the mark of Orrin and Alfred Ballard who ran the family pottery under this stamp from 1856-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 46).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp and Capacity Number with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Triple Folk Art Flower in Strong Cobalt Blue.  The flower is comprised of a stem with seven leaves from which three sizeable blossoms emerge.  The cobalt is 11 out of 10!  Stands 15 1/2" tall.  
 
Very Good Condition.  Some staining on the lower left side and a 1/2" chip on the bottom edge.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A drying/firing line under the handle (closeup 1), stoneping on the left side, and three drying/firing lines on the lover left side (closeup 2)-- all in the making.
