Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this eye-catching 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton, Bennington, VT."
 
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and an Elaborate Floral Bouquet in Brilliant Cobalt Blue.  The bouquet has leaves, blossoms, tendrils and dots going radiating in all directions.  The decoration was applied with a slip cup. Bright and shiny cobalt too! Stands 13 1/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Some staining from use.  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
