Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Norton & Fenton, East Bennington, VT." 
 
This is the work of Julius Norton and his brother-in-law, Christopher Fenton, who were partners in the Norton pottery in Bennington from 1844-1847 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 42). 
 
This beauty features an Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Triple Floral with Two Honeysuckle Blossoms and One Bud.  Fine artistry and bold cobalt!  Stands 12 1/2" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  Faint staining on the left side and a 1/2" impact spot on the bottom left stem.  No spout or base chips, hairlines, or cracks.
