Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 2 Gallon Crock made for "Marinirte Herring, Put Up By J. Kunz & Co."
 
Kunz was a company in Louisville, Kentucky who distributed, among other things, marinated herring. 
 
Circa 1900, this beauty features a Thick Tooled rim, Stenciled Advertising, and Unusual Subject Matter.  Measures 7" tall and 11 1/2" wide across the top.
 
I have been unable to find a similar example online. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some interior staining and a narrow 1" chip on the underside at the edge.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
