Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Stoneware Cream Pot Dated 1838.
The decoration indicates that it was made by Asa Smith of Norwalk, Connecticut who ran his pottery during the period of 1825 to 1843 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 58-60).
This beauty features the Ovoid Form, Frilly Tulip, and the 1838 Date. Measures 10 3/4" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some water glass rings inside, a 3/8" chip inside the rim, and a 1" chip on the back of the left handle. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, outer stains, or restoration.
