Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug whose form and decoration indicate that it was made in Cornwall, Orange County, New York.
It is hard to pin down the exact potter, but the choices are David Clark, Moses and Nathan Bell, or I. V. Machett (William C, Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, pp. 125-129).
Circa 1830, this beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, Squared Spout, and Brushed Cobalt Floral on the Shoulder. Stands 11" tall
Excellent Condition. Small chips around the footer. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
