Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful decorated 1 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

 

Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Brushed Cobalt Garland with Four Upright Leaves and Tulip Blossoms. Stands 10" tall. 

 

Good Condition.  Two 1/2" chips at the base and a hairline running halfway across the base coming up and running horizontally halfway around the base (closeup).  No rim chips, stains, or restoration.
