Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug.
The decoration is distinctive of Daniel Shenfelder who made pottery in Reading, Pennsylvania from approximately 1860-1900 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 24-26).
This beauty features the Pottery Capacity Stamp and a Brushed Cobalt Vine with Floral Blossom at the Terminus. The center stem with leaves on both sides not attached to the stem is a Shenfelder invention. Stands 11 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Very light staining around the shoulder. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
