Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Grooved Top for the Wax Sealer and Slightly Rounded Sides, a Top Border of Dots, and the Company Advertising in an Arch Around a Floral on the Front. Stands 10" tall.
Very Good Condition. Minor nibbles and a narrow 1/2" chip on the inner rim and a 1 1/4" chip on top of the rim (closeup). No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
