Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Fancy Stoneware Pitcher.
This pitcher was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York between 1890 and 1907 when they made their molded stoneware. You can see this piece in Christopher Bensch, The Blue and the Gray: Oneida County Stoneware, p. 66.
This beauty features a Debossed Background of Plus Signs, a Border of Shields around the Rim and Base, Serpent Handles, and a Man Drinking on One Side and a Profile of a Man on the Other Side. All the decoration is embellished in cobalt. Stands 9 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip and 1/2" line below inside the rim by the handle not seen outside. Otherwise, no outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
