Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Churn made and stamped by "F. Woodworth, Burlington, VT."
This is the mark of F. Woodworth who ran his pottery in Burlington from at least 1875-1878 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 46).
This beauty features a Tall and Narrow Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Churn Guide and Dasher. Stands 15 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Wear around the inner lid-seating ring, a 3/4" hairline on the rim above the right handle (closeup), and a 1" chip on the heal in the back. No outer rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has two places with adjacent chips on the top edge. Otherwise as made.
