Item 1011
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by F. T. Wright & Son, Taunton, Mass.
This is the mark of the Franklin T. Wright and his son who ran their pottery from 1866 to the 1870's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Fantastic Recumbant Tiger Looking Through a Portal in his Circus Enclosure. The stencil is very finely cut with lots of tiny details. And the stencil is crisp and complete too. Measures 10 1/2" tall and 12" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Three chips inside the rim (1/8", 1/4", 1 1/4"), and two minor 1/8" nibbles outside the rim. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
