    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."

     

    This is the mark of Edward Norton who ran the Norton Pottery in Bennington from 1881-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Floral Bouquet.  The cobalt is shiny and really stands out!  Stands 13 1/4" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the bottom edge of the spout on the left side, and some staining around the shoulder from use.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
