Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 2 Gallon Stoneware Tabletop Churn made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton, Bennington, VT."

 

This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery in Bennington, Vermont from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44)

 

This churn sports a Small Size for Use on Top of a Table, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Cobalt Floral in Brilliant Cobalt Blue.  Stands 13 1/4" tall.

 

Excellent Condition.  Even wear and three chips (1/4" to 1/2") on the lid-seating ring inside, and two chips inside the rim (1/8", 1/4").  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Extremely clean glaze.
