Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock made and stamped by "E. & L. P.. Norton, Bennington, VT ."
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Floral Bouquet Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup in Brilliant Cobalt. Measures 8" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some traces of water glass staining inside and a narrow 1/2" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
