Item 9557
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.
The flower with the circle between the stem and petals makes a probable attribution to Mauldine Perine or his former associate, William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland. Perine and sons worked in stoneware from approximately 1827 to after 1900 and Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
Circa 1850, this beauty features an Ovoid Form, Squared Rim, Hood Handles, and a Brushed CobaltFloral Garland with Two Florals on Each Side and Additional Garland Under the Handles. Stands 12 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Four small chips at the base (1/4" to 1/2"). That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
