Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "WM. E. Warner, West Troy."
This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy, N.Y. in the 1840's and 1850's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Freehand Cobalt Flower with the Leaves and Flower Outlined by a Fine Line. Strong cobalt blue! Stands 12 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Two minor narrow chips on the underside at the edge (1/4", 3/4"), and some staining from use. No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
