Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Whites Utica, N.Y."

This is a mark of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Nicely Drawn Bird on a Branch Decoration.  This was one of Whites signature decorations.  This example has great presence and rich cobalt.

Good Condition. Two narrow chips inside the rim (1", 1 1/2"), a 1" chip on the front of the rim, a 1/4"
chip on the left handle, a 6" hairline behind the right handle that wraps under 3" (closeup), and light staining from use.  No base chips or restoration.  A drying/firing line on the bottom in the making.
