Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug.
It was made by Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, N.Y. from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features a Pine Tree Created by a Single Pour of a Slip Cup. Stands 11 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 3/4" chip on top of the spout on the left side and some light staining. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A narrow 1/2" clay void on the left side where straw burned away in the firing process.
