Item 11661

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery, N.Y."

This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) used from 1843 to 1871 (private research)

Circa 1880, this beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bird on a Branch Decoration in Strong Cobalt created with a Slip Cup.  Comes with what appears to be the original lid.  Stands 12" tall.

Very Good Condition.  Minor nibbles on the inner lid-seating ring, a stain run on the left side, and a faint surface-only 1 1/2" line at the bottom wrapping under 1 1/2" (closeup).  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  The lid has a 2" hairline from the rim and three chips on the edge of the rim (3/4" to 1 1/4").
