Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "Wm. A. MacQuoid, Pottery Works, Little West 12th St., N.Y."

Macquoid made stoneware in Manhattan from 1863 to 1879. His decorators left some very unusual decorations as this piece attests! (William Ketchum, Jr. American Stoneware, p. 63).

This beauty features the pottery stamp and a Bird Standing on a Branch Eating Berries Dangling from the End.  The decoration has a lot more folk appeal than the typical New York bird decorations.  Stands 11" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip and surface ping line on the front rim to the left, and some light staining from use.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

    Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE.
