Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "T. Harrington, Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand 2 Capacity Number, and Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips. The tulips sprout from a double stem with eight leaves, and each blossom has 7 petals. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip inside the rim, and some staining from use. A 2" surface drying line inside and six 1" surface drying/firing lines on the outside of the rim in the making. The one longer one behind the right handle also does not go through (closeup).
