Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "T. G. Boone & Sons, Sands St., Brooklyn."
This is the stamp of Thomas Boone who worked in Brooklyn near the Navy Yard from 1839 to 1846 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 63).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Cobalt Plant Decoration. Cute 1 gallon size measuring 9 1/2" tall and 8" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Minor nibbles and four chips on the inner rim where a lid would sit (1/4" to 3/4"), a 1/2" filled chip on the rim in the front. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 2" drying line above the left ear that ends inside at the rim in the making (closeups).
