Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Batter Jug whose decoration indicates that it was made by Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens, N.Y. who ran the family pottery from 1843-1891 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66).
This beauty sports the Batter Jug Form with Long Spout and Extra Handle on the Back Bottom for Steadying the Pour of Batter. The Spout is Framed by Two Tulips. Original Bail Handle with Walnut Grip. Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two chips on the spout (1/4", 3/8"). That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some bubbles in the thickest part of the cobalt in the making.
