    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "S. Hart, Fulton."

     

    This is the stamp of Samuel Hart who potted in Fulton, New York with this stamp from 1840-1876 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 74-75).

     

    This beauty features a Squatty Plump Form, Tooled Shoulder, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "2" on a Tornado, and a Pair of Love Birds with Dotted Breasts also riding a Tornado. The love birds were a signature decoration for this potter. Stands 13" tall. 


    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Dry cobalt in the making.
