    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA." 

     

    This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 

     

    Circa 1880, this beauty features a Deep Groove at the Rim for Tying a Cloth or Wax Paper over the Top, and Two Top and a Bottom Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising Surronding a Floral and the Capacity Number flanked by Leaves Below.  Stands 11 3/4" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  A faint stain on the front.  That's it!  No chips, hairline, cracks, or restoration.
