Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug with Floral Orchid or Heart.  
 
This jug is attributed to Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, NY from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70.
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Orchid Decoration.  The orchid has 9 leaves and a Blossom in the Shape of a Heart.  Stands 11 1/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor 1/8" nibble on top of the spout, and some bubbles in the cobalt in the making. No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
