Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this imposing 5 Gallon Jug from the Midwest.  It stamped on th back bottom "M", but I do not know what that tells us. 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Larger Size and a Freehand "5" Capacity Number Supported by a Bumble Bee with a Long Trail.  This decoration is simple, yet quite pleasing.  Both the number and bumbee can be created with a simple pour of a slip cup for speed in decorating larger numbers of jugs.  Stands 18 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition. Two 1/4" chips on the top of the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The 3" vertical line in the back at the bottom is a surface drying/firing line in the making.
