Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "A. Conrad, New Geneva, PA."
Alexander Conrad ran the pottery in New Geneva from 1870-1882 before moving to Shinnston, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 164-65).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a the Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring in the Hot Wax, Cobalt Stripe Accenting the Rim, and the Company Advertising Incorporating Two Fancy Streamers. Stands 9" tall.
Very Good Visual Condition. Small chips around the inner rim and a hairline from below the rim to the base on the left side (closeup). No outer rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.
