Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar.

 

It hails from either the pottery of Hamilton and Jones or James Hamilton in Greensboro, Pennsylvania.

 

Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Groove for the Wax, and Three Cobalt Stripes that Frame a Stemmed Rose.  The rose features a stem with two leaves and three buds, and a center blossom surrounded by six leaves.  Stands 8 1/4" tall.

 

This is an uncommon wax sealer, especially with three stripes. 

 

Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble inside the rim and a flat 1/4" flake outside the rim in the back.  Four 1/4" chips on the underside at the edge.  Some scattered minor staining.  No hairlines, cracks, or restortation.
