Item 11370
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher whose decoration indicates that it was made by the Somerset Potters Works of Somerset, Massachusetts.
This pottery was operated by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).
This beauty features a Tall Tooled Rim, Sloped Neck, Ringed Shoulder with Floral Garland across the Front, and a Bulbous Base with the Somerset "Songbird" Decoration so named for the Four "Musical Notes" above the Bird. Whimsical decoration. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Four small flakes near the bottom of the right side and a chip inside the spout that is partially in the making (closeup). That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
