Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Burger, Jr., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the work of John Burger, Jr. who ran the pottery in Rochester from 1880-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty features the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "4" Capacity Number, and a Plant with Eight Leaves and Many Accents that Fills the Front.  The plant is accented with short lines and the entire design is created using a slip cup and brilliant cobalt blue.  Measures 10 3/4" tall and 12" wide across the top,
 
Excellent Condition. A water glass ring inside, and faint traces of water glass outside.  That's it!  No chips,, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
