Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "William Rowley, Middlebury, O."
William Rowley potted in Ohio in the 1850s (Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, p. 54).
This beauty features a Semi-Squared Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent on the Front Terminal, Freehand Capacity Number, and Large Brushed Cobalt Floral. The floral fills the front with cobalt. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 9" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A faint 1" vertical surface line on the front bottom that may be in the making (closeup). No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
