    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 9 1/4" Redware Crock Lid made and stamped by "John Bell, Waynesboro."

     

    John Bell made pottery in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania from 1840-1880 (H. E. Comstock, The Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region, 106-162).

     

    This beauty features a Grooved Edge, Red Glaze, and Pottery Stamp.  Measures 9 1/4" in diameter and fits in an opening at least 7 1/4".  

     

    Good Condition.  Three chips on the outer edge (1/4", 1/2", 1"), two on the underside at the edge (3/4", 1 1/4") and two on the seating ring (1/2", 1").  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
