Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "Tyler & Co., Troy, N.Y."
This is the mark of the short-lived pottery venture of Isaac Tyler, son of Moses Tyler, who owned the old Isaac Seymour pottery in Troy from 1858-1860 (Warren Broderick and William Bouck, Pottery Works: Potteries of New York State's Capital District and Upper Hudson Region, pp. 132-133.)
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and an Abstract Floral made of Dotted Criss-Crosses. Stands 16 1/4" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Stone ping on the right shoulder in the making.
