Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Preserve Jar made and stamped by "F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Mass."
 
This is the mark of Franklin Norton and Frederick Hancock who operated the pottery in Worcester using this stamp from 1858-1876 ("The F. B. Norton Pottery: Stoneware of Every Description." Worcester Historical Museum, 1980-1981).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Large and Bright Brushed Cobalt Dotted Floral that Fills the Front with Blue.  This was one of Norton's signature decorations and is typically found with gorgeous cobalt like this jar exhibits.  Stands 11 1/2" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Very minor nibbles on the inner lid-seating ring, and a 1/4" chip on the outside of the rim.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A drying/firing line above the right handle in the making (closeup).
