Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 2 Gallon Jar whose color and decoration indicate that it was probably made by the Boughner Pottery of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.  

 

Alexander and William Boughner, sons of Daniel Boughner, ran their father's pottery in Greensboro from 1852 to 1864 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 151-155).

 

Dating about 1860, this beauty features a Wide Stripe Highlighting the Shoulder, and Two Wavy Stripes Framing a Large Watchkey 2 Capacity Number Flanked by Three Stripes on Each Side.  Stands 12" tall. 

 

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A small kiln tough inside and outside of the rim in the making.
