Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Cake Crock with Comma Vining.

It is easy to attribute this crock to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Squared Rim, Applied Handles, Two Brushed Cobalt Leaves on Each Side, and Additional Cobalt Accent on the Handles that Includes Another Leaf Underneath Each.  Measures 6 1/2" tall and 11" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  A faint 2 1/2" hairline from the rim on one side (closeup). That's it!  No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
